When it comes to quintessential mid-century modern light fixtures, you can never go wrong with the Moe Light company (later Thomas Industries). These Moe Light exterior lighting fixtures are no exception.
Its deceptively-subtle Art Deco styling features a diamond-pattern curved glass shade affixed to a square metal frame with a copper-like finish. The 8 x 8 frame has small circular rivet holes traveling vertically on either edge, which gives it a utilitarian industrial / nautical flair. It holds a single bulb and is probably rated at 60 watts. It was installed on a porch, but can be used in a small bathroom or as an indoor wall sconce, too.
This Mid-Century Modern Thomas Industries / Moe light is another exterior / outdoor wall sconce fixture with a fabulous 1970s Space Age Modernist style. It has a wooden cage frame with a steel plate top that encloses a formed rectangular white acrylic shade. The wooden cage shows typical signs of weathering and wear, but can be stained to match your home’s color scheme. This Moe light measures 16 inches x 10 inches x 6.5 inches.
